The clinical significance of these observations is unknown. There are no adequate and wellcontrolled studies in women during lactation. ALLEGRA 30 mg tablets are available in: high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles of 100 (NDC 0088-1106-47) with a polypropylene screw cap containing a pulp/wax liner with heatsealed foil inner seal and HDPE bottles of 500 (NDC 0088-1106-55) with a polypropylene screw cap containing a pulp/wax liner with heat-sealed foil inner seal. This drug is known to be substantially excreted by the kidney, and the risk of toxic reactions to this drug may be greater in patients with impaired renal function. Following administration of terfenadine, hemodialysis did not effectively remove fexofenadine, the major active
Allegra C.O.D. of terfenadine, from blood (up to 1.7% removed). Because elderly patients are more likely to have decreased renal function, care should be taken in dose selection, and it may be useful to monitor renal function.
There are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant women.
